James Borchers is a multidisciplinary artist and composer based in Seattle. He works in  installation, painting, sound, and technology to explore themes of representation, fragmentation, scientific discovery, and spirituality.  

 

Borchers's numerous awards include fellowships and residencies at Atlantic Center for the Arts, Kimmel Center for the Arts, and Tanglewood Music Center. His work has been presented at galleries in New York and Seattle, and his music has been performed in the US and abroad by groups such as the ICE ensemble, Talujon Percussion Quartet, Dinosaur Annex, the New York Youth Symphony, and American Opera Projects.
